Monday Moral Dilemma Devotional #3
This is the third in a series of Moral Dilemma Devotionals that we wrote to help your family have conversations about demonstrating our faith and following Jesus.
Check back next Monday for another one!
Mason had two good ideas for his Science Fair project. The projects were going to be judged and the winner of the Fair would get $50.
His friend Cody had no clue what he was going to do so Mason shared both of his ideas with Cody and suggested that Cody use one of them.
Cody was grateful for the suggestion and chose one of Mason’s ideas to develop. Cody did all the work on the project, but, of course, the idea was all Mason’s.
On the day of the Science Fair, Cody presented his project to the whole school along with Mason and the rest of their class.
Cody’s project won first place, $50!
Mason felt sour about Cody winning with his idea. Part of him felt cheated. Part of him felt like he was owed at least some of the prize money if not all of it.
He shared these feelings with Cody, but Cody felt like the result was fair since Cody had done all of the work on the project.

Consider this verse and how it might apply to this situation.
Luke 6:35-36 “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful”
